Noodles brought their prize wheel to the Edison Gym on Sunday, January 23, 2011 during the Grandview Parks and Recreation basketball games to promote the BSC Noodles Fundraiser on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 PM at their 5th Ave Location. Hey Bobcats! You are VERY hungry and don’t want to cook on Monday, January 24, 2011. On this day from 4-8 PM, Noodles on Fifth Ave will donate 25% of their sales (dine in or take out) to Bobcats Soccer Club (www.teambsc.com). We are raising money to maintain the goals we purchased last year such as wheels, new nets, sandbags and paint to line the fields. We purchased one set of youth goals by the Edison Annex and 2 sets of youth goals at the stadium. These goals are to be used by any youth soccer teams in Grandview. Thank you for your support, and please contact me with any questions.

Announcing
The New

Bobcat Soccer Club, Inc.

The purpose of Bobcat Soccer Club, Inc. is to promote the playing and appreciation of soccer by residents of the City of Grandview Heights and the Village of Marble Cliff.

The BSC is a non-profit organization of parents and soccer fans seeking to provide playing opportunities and facilitate skill development for students and adults.

The Bobcat Soccer Club was established in 1994 to provide Grandview Middle School boys a team on which to play competitive soccer after the Kiwanis league. The club supported Middle School and High School teams until those athletes became the first recognized GHHS Boys Varsity Soccer Team in the fall of 1998 with a 14 - 4 – 1 season record. The BSC continued to run the Boys Middle School soccer program until it became a school sport in 2007. BSC then provided ongoing support for the school teams, youth and adult soccer in Grandview Heights and Marble Cliff.

The BSC during its first 15 years has, among other things, sponsored skills camps, indoor soccer teams, GOYSL teams, promoted installation of the new stadium field, provided financial aid, purchased soccer goals, and been a clearinghouse for uniforms and equipment.

And now we are stepping it up a notch! Kelly Burt, Tom Etter, James Gerdes, Paul Giorgianni, Jim Kane, Gabby Kelley, Charity Romero Rose, Scott Ryan, Mark Stamm, Analisa Trares, Victor van Buchem along with other leaders in the Grandview soccer community, are developing a strategic plan, under which the BSC will increase its role in our community. In addition to expanding the services and opportunities we have always provided, we will begin providing systematic support to all of our local teams – including interscholastic, GOYSL, MOSSL, Ohio Champions League, and Kiwanis teams. If it is about soccer in Grandview, we want to help!

Contact BSC President Analisa Trares at atrares@columbus.rr.com if you would like to become a member and visit our website at www.teambsc.com.

Dear Soccer Parents, Fans and Sponsors,

We are excited about the growing number of youth soccer teams in Grandview! We have teams playing in Kiwanis, GOYSL, Eagles, Santos and the All Champion League. With all of these boys and girls playing soccer, we need access to additional practice and game fields with age appropriate goals. Parent representatives from the Bobcat Soccer Club and FC Grandview have been meeting with Superintendent Ed O’Reilly, Sean Robey, Director of the Grandview Parks and Recreation and Kathy Kinnard, the GHHS Athletic Director to make this happen.

Ideally, we would like a set of youth goals size 7’ x 21’ to keep at the Stadium, a set of youth soccer goals size 7’ x 21’ to keep on the Upper Practice Field at the Stadium and a set of youth soccer goals 6.5’ x 18’ to keep on the Edison Practice Field. Our goal is to raise $8,000.00 and we are optimistic we can raise these funds. All contributors will be listed in a designated soccer program. The Bobcat Boosters will generously collect these funds so you can claim your contribution on your taxes. Their Federal ID number is 31-1077884.

Soccer season is upon us, so please consider making a contribution to this worthwhile cause. All checks should be made payable to the Bobcat Boosters and mailed to the address at the top of the letter. Thank you for your support of Grandview Youth Soccer, past and present.

Sincerely,
